The film starts in november 1941 with Lieutenant Kolja
Lvusjkin (Alexander
Petrov) with a spectacular scene where Kolja miraculously avoids being
hit
by a german tank when he delivers food with a truck to hungry soldiers.
As a thank he's assigned to take charge of a tank with a 4 men crew
and in
a suicide mission to protect the village of Nefedovo.
The Germans has break through the Sovjet defence lines and closes in
on
Moscow.
A very intense close combat tank warfare battle ensues
with a duel between
Kolja and his men and german officer Jäger (Vinzenz Kiefer) with
crew.
Then the film jumps to 1944 and a german concentration
camp, and Kolja
has survived and he's seen by Jäger. The Nazi remembers the fight
against
Kolja, and the latter's brilliance, and he now wants Kolja to man a
russian
tank, the T-34, with a russian prisoner crew and to fight his german
tank
manned by Nazi cadettes .... with no ammo for the soviets naturally.
Widescreen 2.35:1 with russian audio DTS-HD MA 5.1 and
swedish subs
Note: When Nazi officer Jäger (German actor Vinzenz Kiefer) tells
a
camera man to turn the camera off he can be heard saying ... "Stäng
av"
and that's not german but swedish !? A mystery
